Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between an insurance broker and an agent?
An insurance broker licensed by RIBO can compare general insurance (auto, home and business) from multiple insurers and represents you, the client. Many agents represent a single insurer. For life and health insurance, I am licensed by FSRA as a life and accident & sickness agent and place coverage with the insurers I am contracted with.
Does it cost anything to get a quote?
No. Quotes and reviews are free and come with no obligation. Brokers and agents are generally paid commission by insurers. If a fee ever applied, I would tell you in advance.
What information do I need for a quote?
Just your name, phone number and what you want insured to start. I’ll ask for the rest, such as driving history, property details or business information, when we talk. Please don’t send licence numbers, SIN, banking or health details through the website form.
How quickly will you get back to me?
Usually the same day during my hours: weekdays 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and weekends 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Messages outside those hours are answered the next day.
Can you guarantee I’ll save money?
No one can honestly guarantee savings. What I can do is compare options from the insurers I work with, explain the differences in coverage, and help you choose what’s right for you.
Which areas do you serve?
I’m based in the GTA and serve clients across Ontario, with a focus on Vaughan, Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, Markham and Richmond Hill. Most clients work with me entirely by phone, text, WhatsApp and email.
Which languages do you speak?
English, Urdu, Hindi and some Punjabi.
How can I check your licences?
You can look up insurance brokers on the public register at ribo.com (Broker Search), and FSRA-licensed life agents through FSRA’s licensed insurance agents page.
Is my coverage in place once I submit the form?
No. Submitting a request does not bind or change any insurance. Coverage is only in place once it is confirmed in writing by the insurer or by me on the insurer’s behalf.
Can you help if I have a claim?
Yes. Insurers handle and decide claims, but I can help you understand your policy, the process and what to expect, and follow up with the insurer if needed.
Ready to compare your options?
Tell me what you need covered. I’ll review it with you, explain your choices in plain language, and follow up at a time that suits you.
